Creative alchemy is our goal. Join us in our journey.

Bradford Playhouse's volunteers are self-organised into collectives. The collectives are an innovative way of organising. They meet on an egalitarian basis and aim to distibute skills and knowledge among the group, enabling people to do their job more effectively, boost confidence and allow them to gain new skills.

The belief that runs through this place is that absolutely everyone is an artist. Everyone has a creative role to play whether you refer to yourself as an artist or not! As well as supporting the operational aspects of the organisation, the volunteer team are actively encouraged to play a part in the aspirational creative output of the place. Bar staff can play a DJ set, front of house staff might curate the bar shed, admin staff may present a work in progress in the foyer. Your skills and your ideas and your energy will be very much appreciated.

Collectives at the Playhouse are open to anybody: staff, members, art farmers and the general public.

The collectives usually meet at the Playhouse on a regular basis and have their own microsites - find out more about them below!
